Tara Manton

Director of Data Ethics and Privacy

Tara Manton is a qualified solicitor with several years’ experience practicing law in a large private-practice law firm and as legal counsel. Since then, she obtained four data protection certifications – including GDPR Practitioner, IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM and FIP. Now she advises many organisations from a wide variety of sectors on data protection laws and best practice in the privacy field. Clients hugely appreciate Tara’s broad experience, as risk is addressed more efficiently, reducing their need for separate legal advice. And for Tara, this exposure keeps her on her toes professionally, enhancing her effectiveness as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) – a position she’s held for more than five years.

Tara also plays a pivotal role in the development of Calligo’s Privacy Services portfolio and running the Privacy practice of consultants – the focus being on helping build privacy programmes for clients that are imbued with actionable advice. She has worked with both private sector organisations as well as public authorities; giving her considerable insight into the vast difference in how data protection laws are applied. She is also a true thought leader, Tara is also a regular contributor to Calligo’s internal and external publications on data protection and data privacy topics.
